Hosta 'Millennium Magic'

This seedling of H. montana 'Chōkō Nishiki' was registered by Patrick Lydon of Illinois in 1999. It grows into a large size hosta about 20 inches in height with a spread of 37 inches. The foliage color ranges from chartreuse to gold and the leaves have heavy corrugation. Near white flowers bloom in July.

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term nishiki as brocade (rich-colored woven fabric) i.e. something colorful and beautiful.
