Hosta 'Miss Shamim'

Originated by Arthur Wrede of Maryland but registered in 2015 by Ed McHugh on his behalf, this upright growing cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Miss Angie'. A large size (18 inches high by 24 inches wide) hosta, it has light green foliage which is broadly ovate to nearly round, slightly wavy and dull on top. The petioles are solid dark purple in color. Purple flowers with translucent margins and dark purple anthers bloom from mid-August into September on scapes up to 36 inches tall.

According to the registration materials: "...dark purple petioles that hold color all season, rippled edge..."
