Hosta 'Moon Split'

This cultivar is a sport of H. 'Velvet Moon' which was a sport of H. 'Abiqua Moonbeam.' It was registered by Danny Van Eechaute of Belgium in 2000. The rounded leaves are chartreuse with an irregular dark green stripe in the middle. They have good substance and will pucker as they age. The mound grows into a large size hosta about 18 inches in height with a spread of 30 inches. Near-white flowers bloom in mid summer.

A hosta by the name of H. 'Split Moon' appears on the Hosta Library.
