Hosta 'Nuestra Señora de Atocha'

Registered by Randy Goodwin of Indiana in 2009, this cultivar is a hybrid of H. 'Kevin Kelley'. This medium size (12 inches high by 24 inches wide) hosta has golden yellow foliage. Its leaves are nearly round, moderately flat, slightly cupped, slightly twisted, moderately wavy and slightly shiny on top. Lavender flowers with stripes bloom from June into July on scapes 18 to 24 inches tall.

Nuestra Señora de Atocha was the most famous of a fleet of Spanish ships that sank in 1622 off the Florida Keys while heavily laden with copper, silver, gold, tobacco, gems, jewels and indigo.
