Hosta 'Paradise Sunset'

A sport of H. 'Hydon Sunset', this is a non-registered cultivar from Marco Fransen of Fransen Hostas in the Netherlands. The small size (8 inches high by 14 inches wide) plant has dark green leaves with a bright gold marginal variegation. It bears purple flowers in July followed by viable seeds.

The Book of Little Hostas by Kathy and Michael Shadrack (2010) says: "Grows best in dappled shade...Leaves that lose their margin should be removed to prevent the whole plant's reverting to green."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "...margin becomes dull pale green as summer progresses. Has a tendency to revert so frequent division is essential. Moderate to rapid growth rate."
