Originated by Rick Goodenough of Massachusetts, this non-registered cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Mr. Jack'. This is a very upright, medium size hosta with dark green, narrow, wavy leaves. It is noted for its red petioles which stand 15 to 17 inches tall. 'Point Judith Light tends to pass good red color onto its seedlings.

The Point Judith Light is located on the west side of the entrance to Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island as well as the north side of the eastern entrance to Block Island Sound.
