Hosta 'Powder Brute'

Registered by Carole Hajnosz of New York in 2022, this cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Powder Keg' × H. 'Brutus'. This giant size hosta grows to about 30 inches high by 60 inches wide with dark blue-green foliage that has a green and creamy white streaked variegation.

The broadly ovate leaves are slightly wavy, heavily corrugated and slightly rippled. Pale lavender flowers with slightly darker interior "brush strokes" bloom in July on scapes 30 to 34 inches tall followed by viable seeds in dark green pods that have occasional white streaks.

The registration materials state: "Nicely corrugated, very thick dark blue leaves with green and creamy white streaks throughout...becomes slightly shiny dark green with white streaks in the fall...seeds obtained from Jeff & Marie White."

On the 2021 AHS Online Auction website, this plant was listed as a breeding stock plant from Carole Koza...Same person?
