Hosta 'Prairie Rainbow'

This upright growing cultivar of unidentified parentage was originated by Dr. Doug Beilstein of Ohio and Mark Zilis of Illinois and registered by Zilis in 2009.

It is a slow growing large size plant about 21 inches high by 38 inches wide with dark green foliage that is heavily streaked with yellow. The leaves are elliptic to ovate, slightly cupped and slightly wavy. Its tubular, pale purple flowers bloom in July.

'Prairie Rainbow' changes to dark green and white as the season progresses.
