Hosta 'Raspberry Sundae'

This non-registered cultivar from Harini Korlipara and Gary Gossett of Terra Nova Nursery in Oregon was introduced in 2010. It is a small size hosta which grows to a height of about 9 inches with a width of 21 inches. 'Raspberry Sundae' has a moderate growth rate and the deep lavender flowers blooms from August into October. The petioles are a deep burgundy red. This hosta was granted a U.S. patent in 2012.

Abstract: A new and distinct Hosta plant characterized by the combination of creamy white-centered foliage with green margins and strong red petioles and flower stalks. In the spring the red of the petioles shows up in the base of the leaf as well. Hosta ‘Raspberry Sundae’ has a compact habit and attractive violet flowers in late summer into fall.
