Hosta laevigata
'Ray of Hope'

This miniature size (5 inches  high by 14 inches wide) sport of the species Hosta laevigata was originated by Dr. Alan Tower of Washington and registered by Bob Solberg of Green Hill Farm in North Carolina in 2005. The dense mound has medium green colored, rippled, intensely wavy, heavily streaked leaves. Its purple flowers have narrow petals and bloom in late August followed by streaked seed pods.

There is also a cultivar named H. 'Lichtblick' which in German means Ray of Hope.
