This hybrid of H. longipes x H. pycnophylla was registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio in 1999 on behalf of the originator, Hajime Sugita of Japan. It grows into a medium size hosta about 13 inches in height with a spread of 31 inches.

The foliage is dark green with purple-red petioles and slightly rippled with smooth texture and thick substance. It blooms in September on reddish scapes followed by seeds in greenish red pods.
