A seedling of the species,
Hosta rupifraga,
this cultivar was registered jointly by
Dr. Ralph (Herb) Benedict and
Dr. Jim
and Jill
Wilkins in 1996. It forms a medium sized (15 inches high) mound of very wavy,
smooth textured foliage. Pale purple flowers open in mid-August
to September.

(2009) comments, "The waviness and rich blue foliage color
give 'Rhapsody in Blue' its distinctive appearance."
Seedlings of this cultivar include H. 'Good Vibrations', H. 'Happily
Ever After' and H. 'Once upon a Time'.
