Walters Gardens, Inc., Inc. registered
this large size sport of a seedling of H. 'Helen Doriot'. It
forms a large mound similar to
Hosta
sieboldiana.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis
(2009), "...some plants sold under this
name have been white-edged, 'Fortunei' type (10-12 vein pairs).
That form has been renamed 'Rising Surf'...The true 'Rising
Tide' has the look of
Hosta sieboldiana type (14-16 vein
pairs), similar to 'Northern Halo' and other white-edged Sieboldianas'."
