Hosta 'Rising Tide'

Walters Gardens, Inc., Inc. registered this large size sport of a seedling of H. 'Helen Doriot'. It forms a large mound similar to Hosta sieboldiana.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...some plants sold under this name have been white-edged, 'Fortunei' type (10-12 vein pairs). That form has been renamed 'Rising Surf'...The true 'Rising Tide' has the look of Hosta sieboldiana type (14-16 vein pairs), similar to 'Northern Halo' and other white-edged Sieboldianas'."

These 2010 photos come from the Ralph (Herb) and Dorothy Benedict Hosta Hillside, tours and vendors at the 2010 American Hosta Society National Convention in Minnesota, Wade and Gatton Nursery and Arboretum, Toledo Botanical Garden and the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
