Hosta 'Rosedale Golden Teapot'

This cultivar was registered in 2000 by Jerry Hadrava of Iowa as a hybrid of two seedlings called "Hadrava Seedling RD-BS" x "Hadrava Seedling RD-220". It is a large size hosta about 19 inches high by 72 inches wide with chartreuse colored foliage that has a lighter gold marginal variegation. The leaves are slightly wavy, slightly corrugated and oblong to ovate in shape. Pale lavender flowers bloom from July into August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "The contrast between the leaf center and margin is very subtle, so much so that it was registered as having yellow (non-variegated) foliage. The variegation probably did not become evident until the clump had reach maturity."
