Hosta 'Rubies and Ruffles'

Registered by Randy Goodwin of Indiana in 2009, this upright growing cultivar is of unidentified parentage. This medium size hosta grows to around 15 inches in height with a spread of about 24 inches. Its foliage is dark green with a creamy white marginal variegation. The leaves are ovate, slightly corrugated, slightly wavy, slightly folded and slightly shiny on top. Lavender flowers with light stripes and translucent margins bloom from mid-August into September on scapes 24 to 36 inches high followed by dark purple seed pods.

According to the registration materials: "...dark green blade with a ruffled white margin; contrasting all with red petioles..."
