Hosta 'Saginaw'

Originated in Japan and imported by Gus Krossa of Michigan but registered by Peter and Jean Ruh of Ohio in 2009 and re-registered with new data in 2018 on his behalf, this flat mounding cultivar is of unidentified parentage.

It is a small size (8 inches high by 11 inches wide) hosta has light green foliage that is ovate, slightly rippled and dull on top. Lavender flowers with white stripes bloom from June into July on scapes 22 inches tall. Seed set was unknown at the time of registration.

Gus Krossa lived in Saginaw, Michigan before moving to Livonia, a suburb of Detroit.
