Hosta 'Sapporo'

Originating in Japan and introduced by Heinz Klose of Staudengärtnerei Klose in Germany, this non-registered cultivar is considered a hybrid of H. rectifolia. It is a large size hosta about 26 inches high by 50 inches wide with upright, green foliage. The leaves are narrowly ovate, slightly wavy and whitish shiny on the bottom. Pale purple flowers bloom from mid-July into August on scapes up to 48 inches tall.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...could become even larger than my listed dimensions."
