Hosta 'Serpentine'

 

Originated by Alttara Scheer of Connecticut and Madelon Gilligan of New Zealand but registered in 2015 by Gilligan on her behalf and re-registered with new data in 2018. This fast growing cultivar is a hybrid of H. 'Maya Kingsnake'.

It is a large size hosta about 19 inches high by 34 inches wide) The greenish yellow foliage is broadly ovate, slightly wavy and slightly shiny on top with red petioles. Medium lavender, tubular flowers bloom on scapes 28 to 42 inches tall bloom from late January to March (July into August) followed by viable seeds in dark reddish green pods.

According to the registration materials: "...Lime green leaves with strong red petioles, scapes and flower buds. Robust plant with good increase that is fertile both ways..."
