Hosta 'Silberpfeil'

Registered by Peter and Jean Ruh of Ohio in 1990 on behalf of the originator, Heinz Klose of Staudengärtnerei Klose in Germany, this cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It is a medium size plant about 9 inches high by 26 inches wide with blue-green Tardiana-type foliage. The leaves are ovate, wavy and have thick substance. It bears pale lavender flowers in September with viable seeds.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...name translates to 'Silver Arrow'..."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "One of a collection of unnumbered and unnamed Tardiana Group seedlings acquired by the German nursery and hosta collector, the late Heinz Klose."
