Hosta 'Silver Edge'

There is an image of this cultivar on the Hosta Library. From the photo on the HL website, it appears to be a large size hosta with narrow, pointed, slightly wavy light green leaves and creamy white marginal variegation. This non-registered cultivar was originated by Gunther Stark of Iowa.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), this name has a confusing history. It was used as a trade name in the form SILVER EDGE in the 1970s for marketing H. 'Undulata Albomarginata'. It was also briefly used as a trade name for H. sieboldii. Zilis makes no mention of a plant from Gunther Stark as noted in the MyHostas database.
