Hosta 'Sparkling Opal'

Registered by Dr. Doug Beilstein and Mardy Beilstein of Ohio in 2022, this cultivar is a seedling of "Rawson Seedling 15-43" × an unnamed seedling of H. 'The Pit and the Pendulum'. It is a small size hosta about 10 inches high by 16 inches wide with medium green foliage. The leaves are relatively flat, lanceolate and slightly shiny on top.

The flowers which bloom in August were described as: "White with flecks of red on base and tips of the exterior, inside reveals three main red lines along entire length of each petal and occasional small lateral flecks of color."

The registration materials state: "The very distinct flowers on this typical H. sieboldii foliage makes a spectacular show."
