Alex Malloy registered this
cultivar of unknown parentage in 2000. It is a small plant with
ovate shaped, slightly wavy foliage. Purple flowers bloom in
July.
According to
The Hostapedia by
Mark Zilis
(2009), "...often has been spelled as 'Springarn's
Japan'. It seems almost identical to
Hosta venusta in both
foliage and flower, probably being a seedling of it."
Similar cultivars include H. 'Tiny Tears'.
