Hosta 'Split Personality'

This seedling selection is a non-registered plant from Mildred Seaver of Massachusetts. It has dark green leaves that are piecrust shaped and appear to split during the growing season although this trait does not always hold true. Pale lavender flowers bloom in July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "I first observed 'Split Personality' at the 1991 The American Hosta Society leaf show...It made a lasting impression on me. Mildred Seaver entered leaves...that appeared to be divided into sections, something that had never been seen in hostas...Hopefully, hybridizers will attempt to intensify this genetic trait in future breeding efforts and develop a whole new look in hostas."
