According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), this is a "new name for a plant long known as H. decorata 'Golden'..." It was registered in 1991 by Peter Ruh of Ohio on behalf of the originator, Lucille Simpers of Indiana. This medium size hosta starts the season gold colored but changes to green later in the summer. Purple flowers bloom in August.
