According to The Genus HOSTA by W. George Schmid (1991), this is a hybrid of H. clausa.

Stolons are above-ground stems that develop new plantlets at the nodes where they touch the ground. Rhizomes are underground stems that develop new plantlets at the nodes. Hostas are rhizomatous plants...not stoloniferous.
