Hosta 'Sunlight Child'

A self-pollinated seedling of H. 'Golden Hawk', this cultivar was registered by Dr. Ralph (Herb) Benedict in 1991. The small mound grows to about 5 inches high with a spread of 15 inches with leaves that have thick substance. It bears purple flowers with red to purple dots on the scapes in August.

These 2010 photos come from the Ralph (Herb) and Dorothy Benedict Hosta Hillside, tours and vendors at the 2010 American Hosta Society National Convention in Minnesota, Wade and Gatton Nursery and Wade Botanical Gardens, Toledo Botanical Garden and the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
