Hosta 'The Big Five-oh'

Registered by Charles Seaver of Delaware in 2017, this fast growing, giant size (30 inches high by 50 inches wide) cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It has dark green leaves that are broadly ovate, slightly concave cupped, very shiny on top and bottom. Near white flowers bloom from mid-June into July on scapes 30 to 40 inches tall followed by viable seeds.

The registration materials state: "...Very deep veins. Juvenile clump is flat on top. Mature clump achieves its arching dome shape."

This was the official hosta given to those who attended the 50th anniversary National Convention of The American Hosta Society held in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania in 2018.
