Hosta 'Theodore Roosevelt'

This upright growing cultivar of unidentified parentage was originated by Hajime Sugita of Japan and registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio in 2001.

The large size plant grows to about 28 inches in height with a spread of 58 inches. Its foliage is chartreuse colored in the spring but changes to bright gold later in the season. The leaves are broadly ovate, irregularly rippled and have good substance. Very pale lavender flowers bloom from mid-June into July.

Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th president of the U.S. from 1901-1909.
