Originated in 2006 by
Tony Avent of
Plant Delights Nursery in North Carolina, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified parentage. However, H. 'Tiny Gems' has
the following plants in its background:
H. venusta,
H. sieboldii,
H. 'Sieboldiana',
H. longipes, and H.
'Blue
Mouse Ears'. It is a miniature size hosta only 4
inches high by 14 inches wide with blue-green foliage.
The leaves are heart shape and come to a point at the
end.
