Hosta 'Tokyo Spring'

Registered by Gerhard and Renate Ragus of Germany in 2020, this upright, small to medium size (11 inches high by 20 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Tokyo Smog' × H. 'Maya Kingsnake'.

It has greenish-yellow, ovate foliage that is relatively flat and slightly shiny on top. The petioles have red dots at the base but are more sparse toward the top. Pale lavender flowers with purple inner stripes bloom from late July into August on scapes 18 to 24 inches tall followed by viable seeds.

The registration materials state: "...Combines the leaf form of 'Tokyo Smog' with the red stems of 'Maya Kingsnake' in a new yellow-green color."
