Hosta 'Tongue Lashing'

 

Originated by Tony Avent of Plant Delights Nursery in North Carolina, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified parentage. However, it has a number of cultivars in its background including: H. 'Blue Mouse Ears', H. venusta, H. kikutii, H. longipes 'Tardiflora', H. rupifraga, H. plantaginea, and H. 'Sieboldiana'. It is a small size hosta about 6 inches high by 15 inches wide with dark green foliage. Dark purple flowers bloom in July on scapes up to 18 inches tall.
