Hosta 'Toy Soldier'

A tissue culture sport of H. 'Blue Cadet', this cultivar was registered by Bob Solberg of Green Hill Farm in North Carolina in 2000. It forms a medium size hosta about 17 inches high with a spread of 46 inches. The lavender flowers bloom in July.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Increases rapidly. Lovely with lacy ferns...A fascinating and quite distinct bicolored leaf margin, the outer margin chartreuse with white transitional feathering, the colors strengthening as the summer progresses. This effect is not always apparent in cooler climates."
