Hosta 'Tropical Dancer'

This cultivar is a sport of H. 'Spring Fling' which was granted a U.S. patent in 2010. It was originated by Jan van den Top of the Netherlands but registered by Danny Van Eechaute of Belgium in 2008. The medium size plant grows to around 14 inches in height with a width of 26 inches. Its medium green foliage has a wide creamy white marginal variegation and is lightly corrugated, slightly wavy, ovate, heavily rippled and dull on top. Pale lavender, tubular flowers bloom from June into July. It does not set seed.

Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Hosta plant named ‘Tropical Dancer’, characterized by its broadly spreading foliage with upright flower scapes, widely-margined light yellow and green variegated foliage, violet-colored flowers that are positioned above the foliage on strong scapes, and good garden performance.
