Hosta 'Valley's Blue Buggle'

This upright growing, hybrid of H. 'Kifukurin Ubatake' was registered by Jeroen Linneman of the Netherlands in 2008. It is a small size hosta about 7 inches tall by 9 inches wide with medium blue-green foliage. The leaves are moderately flat, ovate and dull on top. Tubular flowers bloom from mid-July into August on scapes up to 12 inches tall.

According to the registration materials: "...small hosta with beautiful blue leaves, white back...blue becomes green with season..."

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term kifukurin or ki fukurin as yellow edge(d) or yellow margin(ed).
