Hosta 'Valley's Purple Dust'

Registered by Jeroen Linneman of the Netherlands in 2022, this upright growing cultivar is an unnamed, open-pollinated seedling of H. 'Valley's Ruffle Shuffle' × an unnamed yellow H. pycnophylla seedling. It is a medium size hosta about 12 inches high by 16 inches wide with pale yellow foliage that has light purple veins early in the season. The leaves are ovate in shape, relatively flat, slightly shiny on top and white on the back. Pale lavender flowers bloom from mid-July into August on scapes 16 to 20 inches tall but it does not set seeds.

The registration materials state: "Lightly wavy margins and white backs adorn the soft yellow leaves that appear to have purple dust sprinkled on and then allowed to settle into the veins...Viridescent. Leaves green up and the purple veins/dusting disappear."
