Hosta 'Wahoo'

This cultivar, registered by Paul Aden of New York in 1976, is a hybrid of H. 'Tokudama Aureonebulosa' × H. 'Tokudama Flavocircinalis'. It grows into a medium size hosta about 17 inches in height with a spread of 38 inches.

Its dark green foliage is streaked with chartreuse, yellow and white. Some divisions may be all-green or form a yellow marginal variegation. The leaves are moderately corrugated and have average substance. Pale lavender, funnel-shaped flowers bloom in July.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "A rare and sought-after breeding plant...Extremely unstable variegation, the clump or individual leaves being either basically blue with central markings or mainly streaked with some blue."
