This cultivar is a sport of an unnamed seedling of H. 'Splashed Leather' was registered by Randy Goodwin of Indiana in 2005. It is a small size plant about 8 inches high with a spread of around 18 inches.

The foliage is dark green, slightly rippled, moderately cupped, slightly twisted, slightly folded and very shiny on top. Its tubular shaped flowers bloom from mid-July into August and it sets viable seeds.
