Hosta 'Yap Yum'

Originated by Jan van den Top of the Netherlands, this non-registered cultivar is a sport of H. 'Yellow Polka Dot Bikini'. It is an upright, medium size hosta with irregular shades of green foliage that has a creamy white watermark in the center and a yellowish green marginal variegation. The ovate leaves are slightly wavy, slightly corrugated and slightly folded. It bears pale lavender flowers from mid-July into August.

Yab-yum (Tibetan: literally, "father-mother") is a common symbol in the Tibetan Buddhist art of India, Bhutan, Nepal, and Tibet. It is also the name of a famous brothel in Amsterdam.
