Hosta 'Yo Mama'

Registered by Bill Struhar of Michigan in 2022, this large size (20 inches high by 48 inches wide) cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It is a dark green hosta with golden-yellow streaked variegation. The broadly ovate leaves are slightly cupped, slightly corrugated and slightly shiny on the bottom. Near white flowers from pale lavender buds which open translucent white (both sides) with pale lavender streaks inside bloom from July into August. The streaked 22 to 24 inch tall scapes bear viable seeds in streaked pods.

The registration materials state: "Streaked, heavy-substanced breeder has abundant pollen, readily accepts pollen and sets a large quantity of seeds. All seeds germinate and approximately 20% of the seedlings produced are either streaked or have heavy substance...emerges with gold streaks on dark green changing to white streaks on green ."
