Hosta 'Age of Gold'

Registered by Hans Hansen of Walters Gardens, Inc. of Michigan in 2018, this cultivar is a seedling of an unnamed hybrid of  H. 'Elatior' × H. 'American Sweetheart'. It is a large size hosta about 28 inches high by 79 inches wide with golden yellow foliage. The leaves are broadly ovate, flat at the margins and slightly shiny on top. Near white flowers bloom from July into August on scapes up to 48 inches tall followed by viable seeds in golden pods.

The registration materials state: "...Large spreading gold with mound shaped habit, broad heart-shaped leaves have a formal presence in the garden...very faint pale lavender central pattern on interior petals..."
