Hosta 'Bluetopia'

Monty and Julie Carlson of Minnesota registered this large size (20 inches tall by 45 inches wide) hybrid of H. 'Urajiro Hachijo' × H. 'Potomac Pride' in 2013. The leaves are intensely blue-green, nearly round, moderately cupped, slightly twisted, moderately folded and heavily corrugated. Pure white, tubular flowers bloom from June into July. It sets viable seeds.

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term urajiro as white-backed or white underside.
