Hosta "Birchwood" Series

The group of hosta cultivars was developed by Florence Shaw in Weston, Massachusetts in the 1960s. According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "The American Hosta Society registered seven Birchwoods plus 'Blue Beauty' for Florence Shaw in 1986. Peter Ruh registered 'Birchwood Gem' for her in 1989."
