Hosta 'Hope Springs Eternal'

 

Registered by Hans Hansen of Walters Gardens, Inc. of Michigan in 2019, this cultivar is a seedling of (an unnamed streaked sport of H. rupifraga × H. 'Niagara Falls') ×  (H. 'Neptune' × H. 'Fulda'). It is a large size hosta about 22 inches high by 47 inches wide with blue-green foliage with a creamy white marginal variegation.

The broadly ovate leaves are heavily rippled at the margins, slightly wavy and have a glaucous bloom on top. Near white flowers with very pale lavender stripes bloom in July on blue scapes about 24 to 32 inches tall. It sets viable seeds in green pods.

The registration materials state: "...Intensely ruffled blue leaves with creamy white margins."
