Hosta shikokiana
aka Shikoku Gibōshi

The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009) says, "...native to Shikoku Island in Japan... small size mound of green foliage...dull on top, very shiny on the underside...medium purple flowers...open in late June...scapes red-dotted."

According to The Genus Hosta by W. George Schmid (1991), this is a small size plant that grows about 6 inches in height with a spread of around 12 inches. The leaves are shiny green on top, slightly wavy and not rugose. Pale purple flowers with purple anthers bloom in July.
