Started in 1942 by Dennis Walters, the company is now the largest single grower of herbaceous perennials in the United States. It is located on the shores of Lake Michigan in the City of Zeeland, Michigan. They were an early entry into the use of tissue culture and have been producing hostas and the resulting cultivars for decades.
