According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009),"Roger and Ann Bowden of Devon, England developed this series of eleven cultivars...Peter Ruh has corresponded and traded with the Bowdens extensively since the 1980s. In 2005 Pete registered five "Devons"...Two are Tardiana-types ('Devon Blue' and 'Devon Green'), while at least three have a Hosta montana background. Others come out of H. sieboldiana, H. venusta, H. fluctuans, and 'Buckshaw Blue'. Most well-known is 'Devon Green', a green-leaved sport of 'Halcyon'."
