Gladys Holly of Wisconsin and Dr. Ralph (Herb) Benedict of Michigan are the originators of this group of hostas. Gladys did her hybridizing in the 1950s and 60s and Herb continued the name in later years using Glady's H. 'Holly's Honey' in his hybridizing.
