Want
your own website but can't justify the time and effort
to create and maintain one on your own? Or, you
can't justify the expense of having a high powered web design company create
and maintain an elaborate website for you?
Creating and maintaining a website can be
expensive and requires computer skills and knowledge that you
may not have available. This is especially true for small garden
clubs, plant societies, public
gardens, arboreta and plant conservatories. It is also a
challenge for small plant nurseries or local garden
centers.
Still want
to communicate to your members, clients or customers on
your own website?
may be able to help.
We are a small
business owned and operated by a
Hortitechie (i.e. professional
horticulturist with computer skills), Mr. PGC. We are devoted to
disseminating horticulture and gardening information. We want to
build a site that will help people be better gardeners who can grow
the most beautiful flowers, stately trees, nutritious fruit and
vegetables and wonderful houseplants. Although education and helping
gardeners "grow" is our main
goal, we are also a "for profit" enterprise.
Wandering
around the Web, we noticed that most plant related websites fell into three
categories:
Large organizations
and gardens who can afford to hire a
website development company to create and maintain an elaborate
site at a cost of hundreds and hundreds of dollars; or
Organizations who happen to have a member
willing to work on a website "on the side."
Groups that don't
have the money for #1 or who don't have #2 available.
Small plant organizations
and facilities were, for the most part, left
out of the loop and off the Web. With this in mind, we have decided to help small
plant organizations get onto the Web by offering several low cost,
low effort
alternatives.
We have a
range of options starting with a
Standard Website Options for
organizations or groups or
gardens or arboreta that consists of a five
page website. These will help organizations communicate your list
your officers, contact information, programs, history and
committees. Gardens and arboreta can include directions to their
facilities and show highlights of their gardens.
We
now have a
Single Page Website option for small
organizations. Visit our sample page to see if this fits your
group's needs.
Save money for your organization by posting your
periodic newsletters online. We
can
post your
Online Newsletter
as
part of your website package. Survey your
mailing list and you will be surprised how many would just as soon
read them online.
This will greatly cut back on the number you need to
print and mail (we just had an increase in postage). This saves you
printing, postage and labor costs. Not only will this save you money
but will eliminate the need to use so much paper which comes from
trees and usually ends up in a landfill.
Another advantage is that past editions may be archived online for
easy access. No more searching the house for last month's copy of
the Geranium News.
To help you see how your plant
related organization or garden's website might appear, we
have created several Sample Websites.
Please take a look. We can fit a website to satisfy your needs.
