This cultivar is a sport of H. rectifolia which was found on Honshu Island in Japan by Kimio Muroya and registered in 2009 by Mark Zilis of Illinois. It is a medium size plant about 16 inches high by 33 inches wide with yellow foliage that has a narrow, dark green marginal variegation. The leaf center starts chartreuse and turns yellow as the season progresses. Medium purple flowers bloom from August into September.
