This small garden was named after the French doctor, Armand
Trousseau (1801-1867). Originally the site of a home for
foundlings constructed in 1674, it became a children's hospital
named Hospital Trousseau in 1880. After the hospital was
demolished in 1902 the area became a shaded area where children
may play.
